San Francisco, California Transportation Information Minimize

There are several options for transfers to and from San Francisco International Airport (SFO):

  • SAA has arranged a discount for attendees with SuperShuttle, a shared shuttle service. Attendees will pay $15.30 each way as opposed to the regular rate of $17.00 (rates at the time of writing). SAA has a dirent link where attendees can make reservations. You must make reservations online in order to get SAA’s discounted rate: http://groups.supershuttle.com/saa80thannualmeeting.html. Either use this SAA direct link and click “Book Online” on the upper left-hand corner of your screen to have the discount code added automatically, or you may book through www.supershuttle.com (the general website), in which case you must add the discount code “SAA15” to your reservation. The discount is not available with phone reservations; however you can make reservations over the phone through 1-800-258-3826 or 1-800-410-4444. Instructions for SuperShuttle airport pick up:

“The SuperShuttle shared-ride vans pick up on the Departure Level from the roadway center island at all terminals. You must cross the street to get to the roadway center island. Look for SuperShuttle Shared Ride Signs and go to the SuperShuttle pick up point. If a shuttle is not waiting, please locate one of the SFO airport coordinators (wearing black jackets) or call local dispatch at (916) 648-2507 (select option 2) and ask them to call a SuperShuttle shareride van from the holding lot. Please provide your name and confirmation number to the coordinator or dispatcher. NOTE: Each confirmation number is good for ONE TIME USE ONLY. If your reservation is set for multiple passengers, please make sure that you board the van together. Airport coordinators are on site from 8am-12mn daily. For assistance outside the coordinator hours, please call local dispatch: 916-648-2507, select option 2.”

To get the SAA Discount, you must make a reservation 24 hours prior to arriving in San Francisco. If you do not make a reservation and your flight arrives between 8:00am and midnight, you must speak to the SFO airport coordinator at the SuperShuttle pick up point (see above) and request a van. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes between 8:00am and midnight. If your flight arrives between 1:00am and 8:00am, you must call 916-648-2507 (selection option 2) and request a van.

Returning to the airport: If you purchase a roundtrip ticket online or make one-way online reservations returning to the airport, you will be asked to enter your flight information. You will then be provided with suggested pick up times from your hotel, and you can select the time you prefer to be picked up. If you need assistance, you can call 916-648-2532. You can also track your van by going to www.supershuttle.com. Click “My Shuttle” on the right hand side, then click “Where’s My Van” where you will be asked to enter your confirmation number to track your van. You must make a reservation online for your return to the airport at least 24 hours prior to getting picked up if you wish to receive the SAA rate.

Children under 4 ride for free, youth aged 5-12 and seniors age 65+ can pick up their discounted BART tickets from any of the BART Information Booths on the departure level, located at every terminal. Options and fares are available on the BART website www.bart.gov. You may plan you trip on this website as well.
