 K-12 Archaeology Programs Developed by Educators Minimize

Some examples of educators using archaeological resources and or working with archaeologists to teach students new information and various educational skills.

  • The 5th Street Cemetery Necrogeographical Study
    This multi-faceted high school project marries archaeological research, historical research, and data management with current GIS, GPS, and surveying technologies.
    Launched in October 2001, the project has focused on two cemeteries located inside the limits of Lewiston, Idaho: Normal Hill Cemetery, the present graveyard, founded in 1888; and the older 5th Street Cemetery site, first used as early as 1862, closed in 1889, and now indistinguishable.
