SAA 2020 Meeting Safety Policy and Code of Conduct for SAA Events
The 2020 Annual Meeting Policies have been approved. The Board would like to thank all the members who submitted feedback on the Draft Policies, as well as the members of the Task Force on Sexual and Anti-Harassment Policies and Procedures who put in countless hours researching and writing to improve our processes.
These policies were written to protect all SAA members and attendees at the 2020 Annual Meeting. The Board is fully committed to making the SAA meeting in Austin a safe, productive, and inclusive space for everyone, and that starts with taking responsibility for the faithful execution of these policies. The addition of ombuds will expand capacity to address a wide range of situations that might cause discomfort and stress. A Findings Verification Committee will enable SAA to review cases and act swiftly in the case of an incident.
