Journal Open Access Policies

If you are seeking information regarding open access (OA) policies for SAA journal articles published in Advances in Archaeological Practice, American Antiquity, or Latin American Antiquity, click here: Cambridge University Press (the SAA’s journal publishing partner).

Both Green (self-archiving) and Gold OA options are available. Cambridge has agreements covering over 2,000 institutions around the world to make Gold OA publication options available to authors. If the corresponding author of a research article is affiliated with one of these institutions, in the majority of cases these agreements will cover the full costs of publishing Gold OA. The Cambridge Open Equity Initiative (COEI) also funds Gold OA publishing for authors from over 100 low- and middle-income countries, covering over 5,000 institutions. More information can be found here: https://www.cambridge.org/core/open-research/open-access/cambridge-open-equity-initiative

Authors who are not covered by an institutional open access agreement or the COEI can choose to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) for Gold OA publication in any of the SAA journals. The charge is currently $3,255 for nonmembers and $1,000 for members. Upon acceptance of an article to the journal, authors may choose Gold OA via a License to Publish agreement.

About the Library
It is one of the leading public institutions of learning of the southern zone of Pakistan engaged in catering the intellectual services to the general public and to create awareness against illiteracy and to provide authentic, informative, and constructive literature to the general public.

It contains more than 28,900 volumes on different subjects and as many as 379 periodicals and 68 regional, national and international dailies. The reading material is donated by respective editors/publishers/authors and academic and cultural institutions all over the world.

The library is visited regularly by a large number of students, research scholars and general readers. This is the only library of its kind and volume in this region to cater to the intellectual needs of the seekers of knowledge. The library is absolutely FREE for the readers and has no permanent source of income. The ordinary expenses are met through the voluntary contribution of the members of its Executive Council.
